“AVIACIÓ ADAPTADA 2018”
On Saturday 20 October 2018, at the Igualada-Òdena Aerodrome, the FIRST DAY OF “AVIACIÓ ADAPTADA” (Adapted Aviation) took place.
“Aviació Adaptada” is an initiative of “Vols per a tothom”, “Las Sillas Voladoras” and “Temyque”, with the collaboration of “Federació Aèria Catalana”, “Aeroports de Catalunya” and the Igualada and Òdena town halls, to introduce people with disabilities to the world of aviation. Many pilots, volunteers, organisations, companies and gliding clubs also took part, among them the “Club de Vol a Vela Igualada-Òdena” (Igualada-Òdena Gliding Club).
This year almost 100 people with disabilities flew, among them almost 20 in a glider. For this event our club contributed part of the fleet: 2 tow planes and 3 two-seater gliders. We could also count on an ASK21 adapted with manual control, owned by “Las Sillas Voladoras”.
Thanks to this event, we also signed a collaboration agreement with “Las Sillas Voladoras” to share human and material resources.
With this agreement we can count on the ASK21 for our members, for the members of “Las Sillas Voladoras” and for flights with disabled people. If somebody couldn’t fly, contact us or “Las Sillas Voladoras“.
