Another Italian in plastic!

Sunday 24 January 2016… It looked like we wouldn’t be able to fly. First thing in the morning, fog and poor visibility. Despite the bad weather we got the aircraft ready: the indestructible Rallye, the Janus, the K13 and the PW5. As the morning went on the weather only got worse, until suddenly, around mid-afternoon, the day began to clear up: better visibility, a higher ceiling, and so on.

So the moment had come. Giovanni Piazza, one of our distinguished Italian members, was already set to fly a “plastic” glider and, with the proper authorisation from Manel and prior instructions, he set off in the “Piwi”. A perfect launch behind the tug, an aerotow up to about 500 metres, a few little minutes of free flight and back down to the ground. A perfect landing and a smile on his face.

Congratulations, Gino!
